Vaccine researcher #PeterHotez warns multiple viruses could strike #America right after Trump takes office

Vaccine researcherPeter Hotez recently made a bold prediction, warning that a wave of deadly viruses could hit the Trump administration immediately after Inauguration Day. Speaking on MSNBC, Hotez discussed the potential health challenges awaiting the new administration, suggesting a looming viral onslaught as a key issue in their health agenda.

Pediatrician and vaccine advocate Peter Hotez recently warned that several viral outbreaks could hit the United States after President-elect Donald Trump's #inauguration on January 21, 2025.

Dr. Peter Hotez is the co-director of the Texas Children’s Center for Vaccine Development (CVD).

Speaking on MSNBC, Hotez discussed the upcoming health challenges the Trump administration may face, especially with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. poised to become the Health and Human Services Secretary.

Hotez expressed concern about potential viral threats, including H5N1 bird flu, which is spreading across wild birds and into poultry in the U.S.

He also raised alarm about new coronaviruses, mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and Zika, and a rising trend in vaccine-preventable diseases, partly due to anti-vaccine movements.

Hotez emphasised the need for a capable health team to handle these growing threats as they could quickly escalate.

Vaccine debate between Elon Musk, Joe Rogan and Peter Hotez

Peter Hotez has made headlines before.

Back in June 2023, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticise Joe Rogan's podcast, where Rogan hosted Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to discuss his anti-vaccine views.

Hotez labeled the conversation as "nonsense" and shared a Vice article that accused Spotify of not doing enough to stop vaccine misinformation.

Joe Rogan offered $100,000 to charity if Hotez would debate RFK Jr. live on his show.
