Mahmoud Abu Salama, a Palestinian journalist and Al-Ghad TV correspondent in northern Gaza, has denounced the Israeli army for circulating false accusations against him. The military’s “Israel Speaks Arabic” page posted a video from May 16, 2025, when Israeli forces bombed forcibly displaced Palestinians in Beit Lahia, killing and injuring many. Abu Salama says the army is now claiming the footage was fabricated, accusing him of acting rather than reporting.
On that day, he was covering the massacre when, due to a shortage of ambulances, he used his own car to transport the wounded and the bodies of the martyred to the Indonesian Hospital. “These families were bombed, their bodies torn apart in this place,” he says. He calls the accusations part of a wider campaign of incitement against journalists in Gaza. “Our work is ethical and professional, to be the voice of the oppressed, the voice of justice, and the voice of the afflicted in Gaza,” he adds. “We will persist and continue to cover these events with complete honesty and trust in God.”
