🚨 Armored Vehicles Open Fire in Taipei Streets During Military Drill
Armored vehicles and troops have been seen opening fire in the streets of Taipei as Taiwan conducts intense urban warfare drills, simulating a defense of the capital city in case of an invasion.
The drills part of Taiwan’s annual Han Kuang military exercises are focused on "defending key entrances into the capital" and preparing for potential amphibious or paratrooper assaults from China.
Gunfire echoed through the city as simulated enemy forces were repelled, while tanks and troops maneuvered through Taipei’s urban terrain in a high-alert scenario that included civilian evacuation drills and air defense coordination.
These drills come amid heightened tensions in the Taiwan Strait, with China stepping up military pressure and asserting its claim over the island. Taipei is signaling it’s serious about being ready for “Day One” conflict scenarios.
Taiwan’s President and top military brass have emphasized urban readiness, saying Taipei must not fall under any circumstances.
