As I think of things happening right now in workplaces, schools, homes and churches around our country - with people being hunted down like dogs and with no legal protections - my main heartbreak is for children now traumatized by all this. We are inflicting damage on innocent people in ways for which there is no excuse.

This mass deportation project is far more about race than immigration. If it were about immigration, Trump himself would not have blocked the remedy.

Let us not be naïve. It is a moment to be deeply aware and courageous. If we make ourselves available to our Creator, our hearts will tell us what to do.
